Attendance Approval

Summary​

Approval recalculates attendance and establishes the canonical approved outcome used by downstream payroll processing.

Audience​

Managers, HR and attendance administrators, payroll administrators, analysts, product owners, and QA engineers.

Confirmed behavior​

Source-confirmed approval capability recognizes administrator-, HR-, manager-, or approver-labelled identities, or explicit attendance approval permission. This is a capability rule, not a confirmed organizational hierarchy. Approval applies to a daily attendance result, recomputes work hours, overtime, shortfall, status, and paid units, marks it approved, and records audit activity. Approving a punch can also approve and recalculate related attendance.

Approved attendance is available to Payroll. Ordinary attendance approval does not expose a confirmed payroll-lock check; reopen approval does. Therefore a general claim that all approved records are immutable or lock-protected would be incorrect.
