Summary
These definitions provide a shared business vocabulary for the Employee module without describing implementation details.

Purpose
Use these concepts when defining policy, acceptance criteria, business processes, and cross-module responsibilities.
Business concepts

| Manager | Another active employee optionally referenced as the reporting manager. An employee cannot report to themselves. | Confirmed |
| Department | An active tenant-scoped organizational unit to which an employee may be assigned. | Confirmed |
| Designation | An active tenant-scoped workforce position that may be associated with a department and assigned to an employee. It is not an authorization role. | Confirmed |

An Employee record is distinct from an Identity account. The reviewed evidence does not prove one-to-one account provisioning or synchronization.
Organization relationship
The relationships describe current organization context. They do not imply authorization, an approval chain, or a complete organization-chart traversal.

Definitions are derived from the Employee domain foundation and approved Organization documentation. Where the source stores a value but does not define a business policy, the policy is marked Requires confirmation.
