Summary

Employee records use four confirmed current statuses: Active, On Leave, Suspended, and Terminated. The source accepts any change between these values and does not establish a governed transition matrix.

Confirmed transition behavior

  • Creating an employee establishes Active status.
  • Selecting a different valid status records a status-change timeline entry.
  • Selecting the current status makes no business change.
  • Terminated is the only status that makes the Employee record inactive.
  • The reviewed source does not restrict which valid status may follow another valid status.

Requires confirmation

  • Who may authorize each status change.
  • Required reason, evidence, effective date, and approval.
  • Whether On Leave should be derived from Leave rather than maintained directly.
  • Identity access, manager hierarchy, payroll, attendance, expense, and workflow consequences.
  • Whether Terminated-to-Active is correction, reinstatement, or rehire.
