Leave Balances
Summary
A Leave balance tracks annual units for one employee/user and Leave type.
Audience
Employees, Leave/HR/Payroll administrators, analysts, product owners, and QA.
Concepts
Confirmed components are opening balance, accrued, used, adjusted, carried forward, encashed, and available. Available balance reflects additions less used and encashed units; adjustments may be positive or negative.
Approval increases used units. Moving an approved request away from Approved reverses the same usage. Rejection before approval has no balance effect. A balance is created if needed during approval.
Balance sufficiency is not enforced at request creation or approval. The policy negative-balance flag is not consulted by the confirmed workflow. Reserved/pending balance is not implemented. Accrual scheduling/formulas, balance correction approval, carry-forward execution, and encashment execution require confirmation or are not implemented.
