Goals and Objectives

Summary

Appraisal goals capture a title, optional metric, bounded weightage, self assessment, manager assessment, feedback, and compatibility-only target date.

Audience

HR administrators, managers, employees, product owners, implementation partners, engineering, QA, support, architecture, and security reviewers as applicable.

Overview

Canonical goals live inside an appraisal. The flat compatibility path treats one goal as the whole record. Source contains no separate objective hierarchy, OKR linkage, competency mapping, or progress check-in model.

Confirmed business behavior

Goals can be added while a canonical appraisal is editable. Self and manager assessments update the goal at their respective review stages. Compatibility save can create or overwrite one flat goal and may create a named Draft cycle.

Business rules

A goal title is required. Weightage is normalized to its supported range; there is no rule requiring all goal weights to total a fixed amount. Canonical goal target dates and goal-progress states are not implemented.

Maturity

The capability is Transitional because canonical staged behavior coexists with compatibility behavior and incomplete authorization governance.

Requires confirmation

Formal ownership, permission scope, operating policy, and approval governance require confirmation.
